Ānanda: আনন্দ (joy, awe, reverence) Bangla
Ānanda: आनन्द/ஆனந்தம் (bliss) Sanskrit/Tamil
Studio Ānanda’s mission is, first and foremost, to heal. It is to create a space, reflection and resource to help facilitate true global healing. It is to create a clear pathway and therefore a re-imagination of the possibilities of a society that is actually well. We’re asking: What does wellness look like when it’s for and by the people? What does the post-capitalist landscape of healing look like? How can we bridge the gaps to get there? We believe “sustainability” is another trite buzz word. Instead, we ask: Who does “sustainability” sustain? And what does it mean to be “sustainable” if it only feeds the rich? What we’re currently witnessing is the collapse of traditional modes of being. Studio Ānanda, is using and highlighting alternative modalities, as well as the powerful position of marginality, to bring focus to the future of our collective, global society. We do this by looking at the past and healing, we do this by creative conversations centered around integrity. This is a movement. Please join us for the revolution. Fariha Róisín, Director of Studio Ānanda. May 2020.
